Freon Recharge in Hot Springs

When you are going for an off-road trip or driving to work the last thing you need from your car is a faulty air conditioner. It is more tough having a broken car air conditioner during summer. It is important to note that when your car air conditioner stops working, it means the freon for your car is low.

There are several signs that you should look out for and know it's time for your car ac repair.

How does a Car AC Recharge Work?

In the same manner your home air conditioning systems use refrigerant to cool the air. A compressor pressurizes the freon, and it changes into a liquid allowing cold air to circulate.

The car air conditioner works from two different sides. When the freon is in gas form, it starts on the low-pressure side of the system and moves to the high side when compressed. This movement is what keeps your car cool as the refrigerant moves from low to high-pressure side.

At times the systems could start leaking reducing the levels of pressure and refrigerant. When this happens, it's time to have your car ac repair done.

How do you tell its time for your recharge

Room Temperature Air Blowing- When your car ac is on, and it blows warm or rooms temperature air through the vents that is a sign of low freon. When the freon level drops to shallow volumes, its circulation from small to high pressures are affected hence disturbing the system.

Clutch Failing to Engage- When you switch on the AC and its set to extreme cold, you should hear the AC clutch engaging. An AC pressure switch, which should read the pressure level on the system, is what triggers the grip to engage. With low-pressure levels, the activation switch cannot signal the clutch to engage. At this point, the system does not work as there is no circulation of the refrigerant.

Visible freon leaks- When there are visible signs of refrigerant leaking it's a bad sign you need an auto ac recharge. Greasy film on the AC equipment or pools of refrigerant under your car is a sign you are losing Freon from a leakage.

Before having your auto ac recharge make sure the system has gone through inspections for any leaks. If you have the recharge done without checking, you could end up losing the entire refrigerant again.

Why is it important to have your Car AC recharge done by a professional?

While it might look easy to top off the refrigerant at home isn't recommended, because you can't tell the right level without a gauge. Having your car serviced by a professional allows repairs or replacement of worn-out parts. They are also able to advise if your vehicle needs treatments to problems like molds inside the air conditioner. Get the right automotive expert to fix your vehicle, and it will serve you well enough.
